Floorplan Adjustment Requests
At Click, we pride ourselves on delivering accurate and detailed floorplans to meet your property marketing needs. Occasionally, you may need adjustments to room labels, styling, or have questions regarding the accuracy of a plan. This guide defines the types of floorplan requests, explains our process, and details how to submit a request for adjustments or an accuracy review.
Understanding Floorplan Adjustments vs. Accuracy Reviews
Floorplan Adjustments
Floorplan adjustments involve changes to room labels, stylistic elements, or minor layout modifications that do not impact the overall measurements of the property. These may include:
-
Changing room names (e.g., from "Study" to "Bedroom")
-
Adjusting stylistic elements (e.g., fonts, line thickness, or colours)
-
Minor layout corrections that do not affect the Gross Internal Area (GIA) of the property
Note: Click's floorplans are not drawn to scale. While they are designed for accuracy in room sizing and layout, the placement and size of doors, windows, and fixed items may not be perfectly proportional.
Floorplan Accuracy Reviews
An accuracy review is required when there are concerns about the measurements or layout of a floorplan. These reviews involve comparing the Click floorplan with an existing third party plan or verifying details based on our internal quality control measures. This may include:
-
Concerns over Gross Internal Area (GIA) calculations
-
Differences in room dimensions when compared to another plan
-
Questions regarding the inclusion of specific features such as garden sheds or thick walls
Understanding Click’s Floorplan Process
1. On-Site Sketching
Our contractors capture property details using on site sketches, noting all key measurements and calculating internal wall thicknesses. These sketches contain more raw measurements than what appears in the final floorplan, making them essential for validation.
2. CAD Drafting
The data from the on-site sketches is translated into a professional CAD-drafted floorplan. This ensures compliance with RICS guidelines and maintains a high level of precision in the final output.
Note: Final room dimensions are always shown with markers, and we will display the dimension that is most consistent within the room, typically the wall that takes up the largest proportion of the space. We do not always display the largest measurement.
3. Quality Assurance (QA) Process
Every floorplan undergoes internal review before delivery. This includes:
-
Checking measurements against the original sketches
-
Ensuring compliance with our standard formatting and client preferences
-
Identifying any potential inconsistencies before the plan is sent to the client
4. Complexity of Comparisons
When comparing Click's floorplans to third party plans, variations can arise due to:
-
Internal wall thickness: Some plans may account for these differently, causing variations in room dimensions.
-
Building shape: Irregular buildings or extensions can create discrepancies when compared with older floorplans.
Note: Modern extensions must comply with updated building regulations, which often require thicker insulation. This results in increased wall thicknesses that cannot always be included in the Gross Internal Area (GIA) calculation.
-
Measurement methods: Click’s methodology ensures accurate on-site measurements, but third-party plans may have been created using different techniques.

How to Request a Floorplan Accuracy Review
If you believe a floorplan is incorrect, we will conduct an in depth review to determine whether there are discrepancies. Follow these steps:
-
Submit Your Request:
-
Email us at info@clickmediagroup.co.uk with details of your concern.
-
-
Provide Supporting Documentation:
-
Attach the third party floorplan you wish to compare against ours.
-
Outline the specific discrepancies you believe exist (e.g., room dimensions, total square footage, feature placements).
-
-
Review Process:
-
Overlay Comparison: We will overlay the existing floorplan with ours to highlight discrepancies.
-
On-Site Sketch Review: We will check our original measurements to validate the accuracy of our floorplan.
-
Delivering Our Verdict: After the review, we will confirm whether our plan is accurate or if adjustments need to be made.
-
-
Potential Solutions:
-
Revisit the Property: If necessary, we can arrange for a contractor to remeasure the space. Click will suggest this if we are not able to confirm the accuracy of our floorplan though an overlay and require additional measurements to do so
-
Match Existing Square Footage: In cases where external pressure is being applied, we can match a third party’s square footage but will not accept liability for discrepancies. If a third party floorplan is not available for comparison, but there is a discrepancy with the GIA, we will not be able to conduct an overlay comparison. Instead, we will perform a detailed review of our output against the on site sketch. In such cases, the only available options are either accepting the Click floorplan as accurate or proceeding with a matched square footage request, acknowledging that Click will not take liability for any discrepancies.
